025 . P2P Uber Alles!

A quick note for P2P italian supporters: the 10th of December in Milan there will be a manifestation to pretest against the Legge Urbani (about copyright issues). I remember very clearly that in the political program of Rosa nel Pugno party there was the promise of changing the legistlation to make P2P LEGAL. Gehenna Inc. strongly support P2P as a way to share culture. This doesn't mean we are not ready to pay something for culture when it's fair. Copyright laws are just too old, anachronistic and they fail to suite the new digital age.
Support P2P, support the condivision of culture!

024 . I Am The Protagonist

Another cool band you should check is Faderhead.

First of all, because you can listen their whole album online, and this is terribly smart. Secondly, because even if they are newcomers of the scene, FH1, their first album, has many things to say in the EBM area. Even if electronic layers and textures are quite simple (basic beats, basic sounds, no complexity at all, but electric guitars will be added in live shows) the result is surprisingly fresh and intelligent. Chorus have the right mood, songs are quite different one from another ("I am the protagonist" explode in the middle, "Melting Into Your Eyes" is a very good classic-style futurepop song, and "Mattaku (Feat. Myoonji Sadamune)" has an iponotic refrain that shows the way for future EBM). No surprise in knowing that the leader is coming from a heavy metal background: in many cases (let's point Ulver, or Manes) this means new approches to the use of eletronic instruments. Thumbs up!

023 . Na Na Na

Welcome back guys, today I have some little free time so I decided to update my blog with some REAL post. Ok, it's again a post about music, to highligt a really great band that I heard lately: The Knife. They come from Sweden and their 3rd release, Silent Shout, has really impressed me. The Knife are Olof Dreijer and Karin Dreijer Andersson, a couple with a really weird approach to electronic music. Silent Shout is NOT a violent album, though it sounds really creepy and alien, as it was thinked thanks to some psychadelic drugs and recorded in an underground tunnel buried in the forest.
Listen to the song "One Hit" or "From off To On" to understand what i mean. It's like Apex Twin going to Halloween Town, from Nightmare Before Cristmas :P
